The Young Leadership Academy Program

The Darlene H. Young Leadership Academy (YLA) is a Blacks In Government (BIG)
National Program to foster excellence in leadership within BIG to develop professional
and personal leadership skills. BIG and the Graduate School, USDA have partnered
to continue this highly interactive training. Fifty (50) BIG members will be selected
to participate in this year-long training program

BIG Members,

We recognize the delay that many of you experienced in receiving the request for
nominations for the 2008 Darlene H. Young Leadership Academy (YLA) after
the deadline had passed.

We apologize for the delay in receiving your Young Leadership YLA package. However,
we will have a 2009 Leadership Academy that will start in November of this year with
graduation during the 2009 National Training Conference. You will receive timely
notification for the 2009 YLA in order to complete your application package.

Respectfully,

DARLENE H. YOUNG
National President
