2007 MEDIA RELEASE REGION I

Founded in 1975, BIG functions as an employee support group, an advocacy group and with a primary mission to promote, provide, and enhance education and training opportunities for blacks in government.  With chapters throughout the United States, Europe and the Pacific representing more than 2.5 million Federal, State and local civil servants, BIG continues to be the largest organization dedicated to the preservation and professional development of the black civil servant.  The annual BIG National Training Conference is one of the professional development conferences that agency employees have historically attended.
