RMC Scholarship Foundation

Government Executive Magazine stated that, BIG has position itself as a leader in providing high-quality, low-cost training programs for black americans in Government.  A position no other organization has claimed.  There is an overall consensus that the Blacks In Government National Training Conference (NTC) is America’s leading African American government conference.  For more than 19 years, Region XI has been the trailblazer for this phenomenon.

The Retired Members Chapter (RMC) continues its efforts to ensure the viability and competency of civil servants and its family members in the Washington, D. C. Metropolitan Area.  In August 2004, members of Region XI introduced for the first time in the history of the organization, enhanced quality training by partnering with several local universities to provide college credit courses to 2004 NTC conference attendees.  The college credit courses were so successful that the RMC  Chapter decided to establish a scholarship venue called the Retired Members Chapter Scholarship Foundation.

In May 2006, a partnership was established with Grantham University to provide professional development in specialty areas such as Business Management, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, etc., in the form of scholarships to family members of the RMC Chapter who offered to share the partnership with members of Region XI  and its immediate family members.  The RMC Chapter will continue the coordination and administration of the partnership agreement with Grantham University, who will issue one full four-year scholarship annually, as well as grants in the form of tuition discounts.

The full four-year scholarship include all tuition costs, books, and software.  Additional courses are also provided at a significant discount in the form of grants to members of Region XI and its immediate family.

Applications for the scholarships can be downloaded from this website at RMC Scholarship Application.
