C.  An announcement was made of a partnership between Blacks In Government and Georgetown University’s Professional Development Center to provide training at the 2004 National  Training Conference.

       Father Healy was one of the University’s most dynamic presidents and is often referred to as its second founder.  Father Healy entered the Jesuit Order in 1850 and became the first Black to earn a PhD. and the first head what has become, a major American research university.  He was President of the university from 1874 to 1882.

Our Beginning:

· National Organization of Blacks In Government founded in 1975;

· Seated first National Board of Directors  and Executive Committee in 1980;

· Established Chapters and Regional Councils in 1981;

· Established Retired Members Chapter (RMC) in August 2006;

· Seated first National Delegates for RMC Chapter at the 2006 National Delegates Assembly;

First Strategic Plan in 2007, initiated new programs:

· Youth Programs;

· Community Outreach;

· Partnership with other organizations;

· Developed and negotiated a partnership with Grantham University to provide scholarships to Region XI members and its immediate family;

· Expanded Member Services;

· Defined Values;

· Established Concrete Vision.
