BIG Pentagon Chapter Scholarship Committee Awards $8,000
in Scholarships!
In 2007, the BIG Pentagon Chapter Scholarship Committee
began establishing book scholarships-Pentagon Chapter of
Blacks in Government Scholarship Fund-with Historically
Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). In December 2010,
the Scholarship Committee provided $8,000 to four (4) HBCUs
for book scholarships to deserving students. Checks in the
amount of $2,000 each were presented to the following schools:

University of Maryland
Eastern Shore

Virginia State University
Based on pre-established criteria, each school will distribute
$500 book scholarships (total of 4) to a student from the
Metropolitan Washington DC area.
The BIG Pentagon Chapter continues to be a leader in supporting
local students that enrolls at a HBCU. The Scholarship Committee
would like to thank the members of the BIG Pentagon Chapter
for their continued support of the scholarship program.
