36th Annual Blacks In Government® (BIG) National Training Institute: Hope to see all BIG Members at the 36th Annual National TrainingInstitute in Las Vegas, Nevada (July 28-31, 2014). Blacks In Government® (BIG) Scholarships to Acquire Career Keys (STACK) program facilitates training for career advancement and development opportunities for BIG's membership. Please click here for additional information on the STACK program.

Blacks In Government® (BIG) Monetary Assistance Program (MAP) provides monetary assistance to chapters and regional councils to support their specific activities and projects that are in line with the goals and objectives of BIG. Please click here for additional information on the MAP program.

Blacks In Government® (BIG) Future Leaders in America's Government (FLAG) pilot program is to provide guidance and mentorship to junior high, high school and college students throughout the nation, as well as provide college scholarships annually to build future leaders in America's government. Blacks In Government® (BIG) Nationwide Stepping-for-Health Project Health Initiatives Program promotes efforts to educate, improve, and address health care concerns affecting African Americans, and generate greater interest in the health status of African Americans. The program aims to motivate BIG members into better health, with a goal of achieving one million steps nationwide. Pleaseclick here to for more information on the program. "BIG National Needs Your Help: "Together, YES WE CAN" payoff the mortgage on the National Headquarters! Your tax-deductible donation to the National Headquarters' Building Fund (NHBF) are needed today in order to "Burn the Mortgage" by year's ending 2013.... Individual member, group member (National Board of Directors, National Executive Committee, regional councils, and chapters, etc. . .) and memorial donations are encouraged. The member who donates the greatest amount of money during the NHBF's campaign will be recognized as the "NHBF Member Donor of the Year". In addition, the chapter as well as the region that donates the greatest amount of money during the campaign period will be recognized." Blacks In Government® (BIG) BIG Pentagon Chapter 2013 Student Competition 9th & 12th, Grade Students Compete for Awards and Scholarships:

  • Alston Clark COMPUTER Winner: "Cloud Computing - Advantages and Disadvantages of Using That Elusive Server in the Sky".
  • John Clark ORATORICAL Winner: "Parents Just Don't Understand: Bridging the Communication Gap between Parents and Teens".

Community Outreach

Blacks In Government® (BIG) HHS Washington DC/College Park Complex Chapter is offering at least two $1,000 scholarships and at least two $500 book awards as scholarships for graduating high school seniors. All applicants will be considered for all scholarships/awards. Please click here for the 2011 Scholarship Application. Please send to any interested seniors in your church, home area, community service group, etc. The Chapter also recommend that you encourage interested seniors with a strong record and qualifications to apply.
