Denver Center Complex Chapter
Quarterly Report - 1st Qtr
The Denver Center Complex Chapter has had a busy 1st Quarter. We participated in the Martin Luther King/Black History programs during the months of Jan/Feb04. Michelle and I met with the Air Force Reserve Commander (COL Playford) and we had a good time just sitting and discussing BIG among other things. Vern Howard attended our chapter meeting and presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Clara Wallace for her participation in the Martin Luther King program. He also presented a class on parliamentary procedures. Also COL L.C. Williams, Mr. Gail Collins, Mr. James Riley, MSgt David Gatson, and myself represented our chapter by attending the African American Leadership Institute - Expand the Vision Seminar. We participated as presenters to young African American and Hispanic male students representing grades 5th - 12th. We had a great time a look forward to doing it again next year. We are now preparing for a joint workshop with the Space Age Federal Credit Union. The theme of the workshop is called "Get a Clean Credit Report", presented by Mr. Reuben Harris from Houston, Texas. We envision having at least one workshop or seminar every quarter. The first was a workshop on Identity Theft, which was hosted by our chapter and Space Age Federal Credit Union.
Since the last meeting we have maintained our membership by gaining two people and losing two. We have 33 people on the rolls.
III. Goals
ˇ Have a membership drive to increase our membership to forty personnel by Apr04.
ˇ Have fund raisings so that we may fund some of our members to attend this year NTC in Washington DC for members who are not funded by their agency.
ˇ Continue to have workshop programs within our local chapter.
ˇ Have monthly gatherings called BIG Friday whereby we can all meet and socialize together.
IV. Conclusion
We are continuing in the forward leaning posture and look forward to doing great things here in the region. Everyone needs to continue to support each other to ensure that we are not crossing into other areas without letting each other know what we are doing and why. With the support of Region VIII and the dedication of our chapter members we expect to have a successful year.
